Interdisciplinary Design Thinking
Design Thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation to guide interdisciplinary problem solving by developing breakthrough solutions. The Innovation Hub offers design thinking courses to teach students to expand their knowledge and approach to innovation.
24 Hour Innovation Sprints
At Florida State University's Innovation Hub, students engage in competitions to solve complex, real-world problems as an interdisciplinary team. Often sponsored by external companies like Amazon Web Services, students have 24 hours to research, ideate, and pitch their solutions to a panel for a reward.
Faculty Mentors Outside the Classroom
FSU faculty encourage and support students to excel beyond the classroom walls. Recently, two faculty advisors in separate colleges mentored a team of six students to compete and win gold at the iGEM award in Paris, France.
