Look out for each other
At Florida State University, we believe that we are all responsible for each other's safety. There is danger in distractions and by paying attention, we can make our environments safe for all to enjoy; whether walking or on wheels.
HEADS UP! WHEN AT THE CROSSWALK
- Look up from your phone and pay attention when approaching a crosswalk.
- Cross the street at marked crosswalks and intersections.
- Make sure vehicles come to a complete stop before you cross.
- Wear bright or reflective clothing at night so drivers can see you.
- Use pedestrian push buttons and obey walk and don't walk signals.
HEADS UP! WHILE DRIVING
- Never text and drive.
- Be prepared to stop for pedestrians at all crosswalks and intersections.
- To avoid rushing leave 15 min. early.
- Obey the speed limit at all times.
- Don't pass a vehicle that is stopped at a crosswalk for a pedestrian.
