Silica Dust Training

Silica is one of the most common minerals on Planet Earth. In nature, it poses little threat to humans but because of its abundant use in common construction materials and the dust produced when humans work with these materials, unmitigated exposure to silica dust can eventually lead to crippling illness and death. Silicosis, one of the diseases potentially contracted from silica dust, is not curable but it is preventable so preventing exposure to silica dust is your best defense. This module is designed to sensitize everyone who works with or around construction materials to the hazards of silica dust and how to protect themselves.
