The Florida State University women's basketball team continues its run in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship as the Seminoles make the program's third appearance in the Sweet 16.

The second-seeded Seminoles will face No. 3 seed Arizona State at 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

The Seminoles played in Greensboro earlier this month when FSU made its first-ever ACC title game appearance at the North Carolina-based venue and earned multiple wins in the conference tournament for the first time.

No. 1 seed South Carolina and No. 2 seed North Carolina, the other game in the Greensboro Regional, will tip off at 7 p.m. Friday on ESPN. The two winners will meet in the regional final contest at noon Sunday, March 29, with a bid to the Women's Final Four on the line.

Florida State defeated No. 15 seed Alabama State in the first round of the NCAA Championship March 21, 91-49, before racing past No. 7 seed and 20th-ranked Florida Gulf Coast, 65-47, March 23 in second round action.

FSU has turned in one of its most accomplished seasons in program history. The Seminoles' long list of highlights include:

• FSU's 31 wins are the most in school history.
• The Seminoles have posted a program-record five victories over Top 25 teams this year.
• The team went undefeated at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in the regular season (14-0) for the first time in program history and 2-0 in the NCAA Tournament at home. FSU was the only team in the ACC to go undefeated at home.
• The Seminoles recorded a school-record 14 ACC victories during the regular season, surpassing its previous high of 12 in the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons.
• FSU reached the ACC championship game for the first time in program history and earned multiple wins in the ACC Tournament for the first time ever.
• FSU was only Division I men's or women's team to outrebound every opponent in the regular season.
• Head coach Sue Semrau earned ACC Coach of the Year honors and is one of 10 semifinalists for the Naismith Trophy Women's College Coach of the Year.
• FSU's scoring offense averages 75.9 points per game — the highest in the last 24 years. The Seminoles are allowing just 56.4 points per game which is FSU's lowest average points allowed since joining the ACC 24 seasons ago.
• The Seminoles are 16-13 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and have won at least one game in each of their last 12 NCAA appearances dating back to the 1991 postseason. FSU's previous high seed was No. 3, which came in three consecutive years from 2009-2011.
