Department of Florida

July 9, 1998

Dear President D'Alemberte:

On behalf of the membership of the Department of Florida, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), I wanted to congratulate Florida State University for its efforts in establishing the Institute on World War II and the Human Experience. The goals of preserving the legacy of the WW II veteran, along with educating future generations of Americans about the contributions of these citizens, are both commendable and unique.

In recognition of our strong support and endorsement of your efforts, I have attached a copy of the resolution that was passed at our recently concluded Department Convention, which was held from June 18 to 21, 1998.

I am providing a copy of this letter and the resolution of support to a number of our political leaders in hopes they too may assist in this worthy and important activity. Furthermore, we would be pleased to assist you in future efforts to inform our membership about the Institute through our publications and newsletters. Should that be of help to you, please feel free to contact me.

Again, congratulations on your efforts with regard to this Institute.

Sincerely,

David G. Snyder
State Commander
