SPECIFIC DETAILS ABOUT TRAVELING EXHIBIT

"Florida In World War II:  An Intimate View"

The exhibit is drawn from Florida-related materials in the Institute's collection of letters, photographs, artifacts and memorabilia.  It represents the war-time experiences of Florida Citizens as well as service people from around the country who were stationed in Florida.  Original materials were digitally reproduced and mounted on laminated panels.

Categories of Interest (panels):
Men at War, Women in the War, On the Home Front, Forever Young, Mail Call, Boots Thomas, Claude Pepper, Religion and the War, Entertainment, In the News, African Americans and Seminoles, Civilian Efforts. Informational panel about the Institute on World War II and the Human Experience.  Also included are an Overview of the War as it affected Florida, a time line of the war in general and a map showing the military installations located in war time Florida.

Required Space Needed:
The background unit (leans against a wall) is 6' wide by 8' tall.  Two free standing units are each 9' wide by 6' tall and they are double- sided so there should be room enough to circulate around them.

Insurance:
The hosting agency must have and show proof of having a minimum of $4,500.00 insurance (property floater insurance for property of others) to replace the exhibit should it be damaged while in their care.

Shipping Cost:
The hosting agency must pay the round trip shipping costs around $200.00 for 4 boxes.  We also require that the agency use our shipping vendor AAA Cooper (850 - 576-1146).  Generally it has cost no more than $200.00 both ways but with the increase in gas prices it might have increased.
