Pets In War

Aside from service personnel leaving love ones, they were also separated from their devoted pets.  When we think of war we visualize blood-shed, horrors of combat and how they affect people.  One of the ways the men and women overseas maintained their moral was to adopt an animal. Some of the animals served as mascots for a unit.  On the following pages you will read about some of the pets.
