Rough Knight—This craft’s namesake was originally a drawing by Alberto Vargas, an illustrator whose work was often featured in Esquire magazine during WWII. The pin ups from Esquire were among the most frequent models for aircraft artists, as they were colorful, attractive, and original. |
The Paper Doll—This was a B-25 Light Bomber used for strafing Japan’s airstrips and ships. The image on the side is another copy of a Vargas drawing. |
