The material donated by Catherine Lydia Baker Deitch (opposite, on furlough in 1943) contains a number of letters, photographs and a diary detailing what life was like for a WAC (Women's Army Corps) member stationed in Calcutta, India, during World War II.  She was sworn in at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on December 30, 1942, and went for basic training to Daytona Beach, Florida.  She was transferred to India, arriving at Bombay Harbor on October 28, 1944.
