Mr. and Mrs. Mac Mannis of West Palm
Beach started the "Listening Post" by tuning in to German and Japanese
broadcasts on their short wave radio. By listening carefully for hours
at a time, they were able to obtain valuable information on American
prisoners of war. They then notified POW families and friends as to
the status of their loved ones. Over 13,000 postcards were sent to
grateful families. |

Mr. & Mrs. Mac Mannis in the radio room of their

Hallicrafter. The two-starred service flag in the window represents he
and his daughter the latter still in the Service. The sign above the
