Censored Letter

During the war all letters from overseas had to be read by someone else and sometimes censored. They were censored to ensure that no clues could be obtained, such as the soldier's exact location or the next plan of attack, in case the mail got into the wrong hands. Sensitive material was marked out throughly with black pen or was cut out.
