Oglesby Union Scholarship

Helping to provide graduate and undergraduate scholarships to students actively involved with Union Board, Union Productions or are paid or volunteer workers of the Union . Candidates must have a 2.5 GPA and provide a letter of recommendation. E-mail the Oglesby Union Administration or call 850/644-6860 for more information

Marvin B. Overby Scholarship

Marvin Overby began his career with the Oglesby Union and the recreation facility - now known as Crenshaw Lanes - in 1965 as its first recreation coordinator. He coached under the philosophy that, "Great teams are made of great attitudes not just great talent." It is in this spirit that this scholarhip is created. It is designed to recognize a member of the bowling team who not only is skilled in sport bowling, but also whose attitude, dedication and spirit inspires other members participating in the program to excel and improve their overall participation and contributions to the bowling program. Graduate Assistant Stipends

The success of many Student Affairs programs hinge on our partnership with the College of Education . The Division of Student Affairs will provide competitive stipends to graduate assistants so that we will be able to recruit elite applicants to the Higher Education and Educational Leadership programs managed by the College of Education.

FFMA Scholarship Opportunities

The Florida Facility Managers Association (FFMA) was created to promote and serve Florida 's public assembly facility industry. This organization offers a scholarship program to provide students who are interested in the public assembly facility management profession an opportunity to learn more about the career and the industry. It also allows interested students a chance to network with practitioners in the field and to learn of internship opportunities and entry-level positions within the profession by attending the FFMA Annual Meeting, the IAAM/UVMC Annual Conference and Trade Show, or the FFMA Operations Seminar. Further, it offers the association the opportunity to nurture and grow future leaders in our industry.

Students in the disciplines of Hospitality Administration, Sports Administration, Arts Administration, Event or Facility Management, and other related fields are welcome to apply for any or all of the various scholarships that are available through FFMA. Martin Luther King Scholarship

The proceeds from this endowed scholarship provide financial assistance for students with a high level of academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to serving the community. Awards are given to both graduate and undergraduate students through the Multicultural Affairs Office.

Angie Cintron Memorial Scholarship

This memorial scholarship was created in lasting tribute to Angie Cintron, a student at FSU who passed away during her sophomore year. The recipient of the award must be involved with the Hispanic/Latino Student Union and have demonstrated financial need.

Augustus B. Turnbull Memorial Scholarship in Public Administration  

This scholarship may provide tuition assistance and/or project - or program - related expenses to any student, undergraduate or graduate, at FSU who anticipates a career in public service or who has an academic interest in public administration and public affairs. (In developing a project, the student shall confer with the Turnbull Selection Committee faculty representative to create an appropriate budget for the project).

Betty Palmer Scholarship

To provide scholarship assistance to a full-time senior undergraduate or a graduate student who is majoring in Recreation & Leisure Services Administration. The recipient must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in all LEI prefix courses and must have completed at least 18 hours of LEI course work. Preference will be given to female returning students. Bill McGrotha Scholarship  

To provide scholarships for outstanding students majoring in communication who have demonstrated financial need to complete their education. Additional criteria: completion of A.A. degree or 60 hours of lower division, undergraduate studies; completion of 6 hours of English composition coursework, plus successful completion of ENC 4212, Editing, Manuscripts, Documents & Reports; overall GPA of 3.3 or higher. Boyle Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarships to students in the College of Communication . The recipients shall have demonstrated need for financial assistance and shall have high academic promise.

Brian Andrew McLachlin Memorial Scholarship  

To provide scholarship support to deserving students who are committed to their art. Emphasis is on the program of Sculpture and scholarships shall be based upon financial need. This fund can also be used to support the Department of Art by providing support for the instructional and creative activity missions of the visual arts program in the form of grants for equipment, materials, travel & other enhancements not provided by institutional funding. Class of 1942 Scholarship  

A need-based scholarship for graduate or undergraduate student. Recipients must show evidence of financial need, a commitment to the education profession, and good citizenship. Please go to www.coe.fsu.edu for more information on all College of Education scholarships. 

Francois Bucher Research Travel Fund  

To provide grants to Art History graduate students to assist in traveling for research purposes. For more information, please contact Paula Gerson in the Department of Art History at pgerson@mailer.fsu.edu

Patricia Sibley Scholarship in Mass Communication  

To provide scholarships to College of Communication students with an interest in pursing a career in the field of media buying, advertising, or public relations. For more information go to www.comm.fsu.edu and look under "current students".

Office of Financial Aid Foundation Scholarships  

The application period for the 05/06 academic year has closed for Foundation scholarships managed by the Office of Financial Aid. Check with individual departments for any scholarships they may have available.

Service Scholarships

The Center for Leadership and Civic Education offers scholarships for incoming students who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community service and volunteerism. For information and application materials please visit their web site.

Alicia Crew Service Award

Each year student employees of Campus Recreation programs are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students should demonstrate financial need and have a commitment to campus recreation activities and services.
