SWAMI YOGESHWARANANDA GIRI TO LECTURE ON BHAGAVAD GITA

Swami Yogeshwarananda Giri, a hermit monk and holy man who lives an ascetic life in the Himalayan mountain range of northeastern India, will lecture at Florida State University during a brief stay in Tallahassee. The swami will speak on “The Path to Enlightenment: Teachings from the Bhagavad Gita” over three successive evenings. The lectures, which are free and open to the public, will take place:

TUESDAY, MAY 13 — THURSDAY, MAY 15
7:30 - 9 P.M. EACH EVENING
BROAD AUDITORIUM
CLAUDE PEPPER CENTER, 636 W. CALL ST.

The individual lectures are as follows:

  • Part 1: “The Art of Spiritual Living Based on Wisdom and Knowledge of Spiritual Truths”
  • Part 2: “The Laws of Living and Action Explained in the Gita”
  • Part 3: “The Two Spiritual Paths: Action and Knowledge”

The Bhagavad Gita, whose title translates as “The Song of the Divine One” in Sanskrit, is revered as a sacred text by Hindus. The swami, however, draws from various other religious traditions, including Buddhism and Christian mysticism, in his search for wisdom, truth and the meaning of existence.

While in Tallahassee, Swami Yogeshwarananda will be speaking to several other groups in addition to his FSU lectures. For a complete schedule of events and a biography of the swami, visit <http://swamiyogeshwaranandaji.blogspot.com>.
