FSU RESEARCHER USING COMPUTERS TO HONE CANCER-FIGHTING STRATEGIES
A Florida State University faculty member who uses computational techniques to evaluate a new class of cancer-killing drugs is attracting worldwide attention from other researchers. Kevin C. Chen, an assistant professor of chemical and biomedical engineering at the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering, is using high-powered computers to determine how substances known as recombinant immunotoxins can best be modified in order to attack and kill malignant tumors while doing minimal harm to a patient’s healthy cells. FSU POLICE MAJ. LISA SPRAGUE TO BE PRESIDENT OF CAMPUS LAW ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATORS
Lisa A. Sprague, associate director of Public Safety at Florida State University, will be named the 2008-2009 president of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, Inc. (IACLEA) on July 1 at the organization’s 2008 annual conference in Hartford, Conn. (June 27, 2008)

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT TO HELP THE FSUPD FOUNDATION
The Florida State University Police Department Foundation will hold its third annual William Tanner Golf Tournament July 24, 2008 at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course, 2550 Pottsdamer Road. Tee time will be at 8 a.m., with each of the 32 four-person teams competing for cash prizes and awards. (June 26, 2008)
