Wendy Crook
Assistant Professor

     Dr. Crook worked with an undergraduate student to research the efficacy of a proposed state law that would make it easier for homeless people to vote. The student advocated with legislators and wrote a policy analysis paper.



Charles Figley
Professor

     Dr. Figley supervised Theodore Liswith's Honors Thesis, titled "The Effect of the Abstinence Education Demonstration Project at the Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota County, Inc. on the Rate of Teen Pregnancy," during Fall 1999.



Brenda Jarmon
Assistant Professor

     Dr. Jarmon co-authored the article "Building Self-Esteem in Early Adolescents: Strategies for School Social Workers" with Pam Mason in 1996. Dr. Jarmon also supervised a DIS for Darrcelle S. Covert (1997) who studied pregnant teens and group home living.



Linda Vinton
Associate Professor

     Three students interested in fulfilling the Pepper Institute’s Undergraduate Certificate in Gerontology completed DIS courses titled "Case Management with Elders" and "Psychosocial Adjustment to Nursing Home Placements." Dr. Vinton also supervised three undergraduate students DIS (1997) concerned with the rights of nursing home residents and the quality of care and recreational activities with older persons.
