Undergraduate Research and
Creative Endeavors
Mission Statement
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors invites students who are curious about research to explore the opportunities available at FSU. Research is an exciting way to engage in an academic discipline outside of the classroom. An experiment done in a laboratory, a scholarly research project reliant upon archival work, fieldwork and interviews completed to address a social concern, or an artistic project performed in a concert hall, research can take many forms, and they are all available to the students of Florida State University.
Research can lead to a deeper understanding of your chosen academic discipline or to a field you had never considered or knew existed. To get started, identify a faculty mentor who will help to guide you through the process. Take advantage of the many avenues and opportunities you will be offered along the journey. The end result might be an original work or piece of scholarship that can be presented at local, regional, and national conferences and even submitted for publication. Research participation can influence your chances of graduate school admission and other travel and fellowship opportunities.
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors is your resource for information and support as you engage in your academic pursuits and achieve your research, academic, and personal goals.
