Alex Timin

Alex Timin is a 1st year student in the FSU School Psychology Program. He received a B.A. in Philosophy from Florida State in May of 1999.

As a member of the Truancy Prevention Project, Alex aides in devising and implementing classroom and school-wide intervention strategies for elementary level students. These interventions have included:

  • behavior management
  • the use of time out
  • teaching rules and procedures
  • social skills training
  • the application of whole-class consequences ("preferred activity time")
  • student prosocial behaviors in the cafeteria and on the school bus

Alex is also a certified instructor and 2nd Degree Black Belt in the American Taekwondo Association. He teaches weekly classes for children and adults at the Emory Morris Taekwondo USA Family Center in Tallahassee, FL.
