TRAUMATOLOGY

TRAUMATOLOGYe was established in 1995 as an international electronic Journal of innovations in the study of the traumatization process and methods for reducing or eliminating related human suffering.

The purpose of this peer-reviewed Journal is to disseminate new and original contributions to the traumatology field as quickly as possible to subscribers after they emerge from the field. This requires a dedicated Editorial Board, ad hoc reviewers, and contributors who are willing to contribute their time without charge.

The Journal is a production of the Green Cross Foundation. It is distributed in beta form without charge to the Traumatic Stress Forum. It is a member of the InterPsych forum consortium. The Forum is a community of over one-thousand traumatologists.

Contributions focus on theoretical formulations, research, treatment, prevention, education, training, medical, and legal and policy concerns. The Journal serves as the primary reference for professionals who study and treat people exposed to highly stressful and traumatic events. These include but are not limited to terrorist bombings, war disasters, fires, accidents, criminal and familial abuse, hostage-taking, hospitalization, major illness, abandonment, and sudden unemployment. The Journal publishes review papers, original articles brief reports, comments, book reviews, book- review essays, and from time to time special issues devoted to a single topic.
