VISION: Maintain the Florida State University Traumatology Institute as a world research leader in the field of traumatology through innovation and research publications.

HISTORY: The Florida State University Traumatology Institute history overlaps significantly with the history of Traumatology.

GOALS: Some major goals of the Traumatology Institute are to: (1) Develop cutting-edge research, assessment, training and education programs focusing on the traumatized, which include individual children and adults, families, organizations, and nation states. (2) Promote networking among scholars through the Institute's Scholar Program. (3) Serve as the editorial home of the international, peer reviewed journal, Traumatology. (4) Serve as the editorial home of the peer reviewed Routledge Psychosocial Stress Book Series. (5) Promote and support research by students, faculty, and visiting scholars   at the Institute. (6) Consult with those responsible for providing system-wide services to the traumatized in and around the communities affected. (7) Host national and international symposia that promotes the Institute's Vision.
