Interviewers The FSU Survey Research Laboratory employs approximately 50-100 interviewers on both part-time and full-time schedules. The majority of the interviewers are undergraduate or graduate students at FSU, FAMU, or TCC. Lucrative bonus and incentive plans are offered to encourage quality service and extended tenure. Supervisors Supervisors are selected from the
pool of interviewers once they acquire sufficient experience and knowledge
to train and manage newer interviewers. Once promoted, supervisors
are given the opportunity to acquire human resource management skills
and to work within their career specialities. In the past, supervisors
have had the opportunity to specialize in Statistical and Analytical Staff The statistical and Analytical staff
is drawn from the pool of graduate students at Florida State University.
Generally these positions are filled with doctoral candidates
in the Social Sciences who have completed all degree requirements
except the defense of their dissertation. These students are
extensively trained in econometrics, formal theory, strategic analysis,
and social science research techniques. In addition, the statistical
staff is required to complete a minimum of 3 graduate level research
methods courses and have a strong working knowledge of SPSS, SAS,
and most office software applications. Most of the statistical
staff have completed the special summer training program in social
science research methods provided by the The statistical staff analyzes and reports the results of surveys. Results can be reported in a wide range of formats, ranging from simple cross-tabular and descriptive statistics to more sophisticated multiple regression techniques. The statistical staff can also prepare presentations, manage and manipulate the data, and write full analytical reports on the results. Interested parties should contact
