Survey of Government Officials and Elderly Floridians

• Client: Florida Department of Transportation
• Mail Surveys - 794 Government Official Respondents; 447 Elderly Floridian Respondents
• Data, Computer Programs, and Analysis Provided
• Report Issued March 2001

The survey sought to determine (1) levels of satisfaction among older Floridians and government officials with Florida highways and transportation and (2) the feasibility of collecting satisfaction information from this customer group using a mail approach for future Sterling Council efforts.  The FSU Survey Research Laboratory identified specific examples of highways in the official's areas and merged these in personalized letters accompanying the mail instrument.  These examples served to better focus the respondents to roads in their areas.

Health Insurance Customer Survey

• Client: Department of Management Services, Division of State Group Health Insurance (DSGI)
• Telephone Survey - 1,254 Respondents
• Data, Computer Programs, and Analysis Provided
• Report Issued June 2001

The level of satisfaction of State employees with various aspects of their health insurance is one method the Division of State Group Insurance (DSGI) uses to assess its performance. The FSU Survey Research Laboratory conducted the annual Customer Satisfaction Survey for DSGI for the second year in a row. This telephone survey was conducted using Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) techniques. Fieldwork began on June 11, 2001 and ended on June 18, 2001. A random sample of subscribers, stratified by retired and current employees, was drawn from the DSGI subscriber data base. The DSGI provided home and work telephone numbers for subscribers if they were available. Since the list contained name and address information, the FSU Survey Research Laboratory used directory assistance software to find viable telephone information for nearly half of the missing telephone numbers. The FSU Survey Research Laboratory produced a report interpreting and summarizing the findings.
