Napoleon I
Special Collections houses one of the largest and most
important research collections in the world on Napoleon studies, including
the French Revolution. Original and facsimile letters, journals, diaries,
memoirs, and documents provide insights into the character, military strategy,
and personal life of Napoleon Bonaparte. Other materials provide information on
the social and political history of the times. Of particular importance
are the journals, correspondence, and related documents of General Pelet.
Many of the items in the Napoleon Collection are not available in any other
library in the United States.
