Personal Papers. No discernible arrangement. 1923-1967. This series contains biographical information on Allen Morris as well as his personal papers including correspondence, articles, military papers, insurance information, commendations, awards, a typescript for Florida Under Five Flags, a galley proof for Our Florida Government, and press reports. Also included are documents pertaining to the Florida State Advertising Commission, Florida's Industrial Fact Book, the Supreme Court of Florida, the Coast Guard, the International Congress on Food Distribution, and Charles Rosenberg of Rose Printing Company.

Florida Handbook. Arranged chronologically (roughly). 1947-1965. Documents related to the Florida Handbook, which was first published by Allen Morris in 1947 and has continued to be published since then. Among the papers included in this series are reviews, correspondence, articles, questionnaires, newspaper clippings, and a large accumulation of facts on Florida. Of especial interest are the biographical materials and histories of places and place names used in compiling the Florida Handbook.

Other Books by Allen Morris. No discernible arrangement. 1952-1967. This series contains items related to Morris works such as Our Florida Government, Florida Under Five Flags, Florida Industrial Fact Book, Florida Place Names, and Florida Reader. The documents consist of correspondence and contracts between Morris and his publishers, galley proofs, typescript manuscripts, and facts and correspondence relating to the books.

"Cracker Politics" and other Newspaper Articles. 1940-1966. This series contains a complete run of the "Cracker Politics" column for which Allen Morris was responsible for so many years. The items are arranged in chronological order from 1940 until 1966 and then there are a few folders which contain materials from the 1940s that are arranged in chronological order. The clippings are from various sources including the Miami Daily News, the Jacksonville Journal, the Orlando Sentinel-Star, the Tallahassee Democrat, and the Miami Herald.

Awards. Arranged in chronological order. 1946-1966. This series contains materials relating to awards received by Allen Morris and to awards given by Allen Morris to members of the Florida Legislature. The items include newspaper articles, correspondence, telegrams, award ceremony programs, lists, and photographs.

Photographic Archives - MISSING. The items in this series are missing and are included to indicate that they once were a part of this collection and may very well be again in the future.

Florida Officials. Arranged alphabetically. 1926-1967. The majority of the items in this series date from the 1950s and 1960s. Important Florida officials such as Secretary of State Tom Adams, Elgin Bayless, Fred O. Dickinson, Secretary of State R.A. Gray, and many others are covered. The materials consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, biographical pieces, speeches, and campaign materials pertaining to the officials.

Among the persons covered are Lamar Bledsoe, Doyle Carlton, Doyle Conner, and the wives of Florida Legislators. A large number of the materials, dated in the 1950s and 1960s, are devoted to Doyle E. Conner who was Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Legislative - Rules. No discernible arrangement. 1941-1953. The majority of the items in this series are dated from the late 1940s and include correspondence, newspaper clippings, books and excerpts from books, and other documents relating to legislative rules.

Legislative - Miscellaneous. Arranged alphabetically. 1839-1965. This series contains miscellaneous items pertaining to the state legislative bodies. Among the materials included are documents concerning apportionment, bills, census, constitutional revision, education, lobbying, and the legislature in general.

Judicial - Papers. Arranged alphabetically. 1938-1961. Biographical materials, newspaper clippings, speeches, articles, campaign materials, correspondence, reports and opinions of judicial figures in the state. Among the individuals covered are Florida Supreme Court Justices, District Judges, and Circuit Judges such as Richard Ervin, Stephen O'Connell, B.K. Roberts, and W. May Walker.

Among the politicians covered are Claude Pepper, Charlie Bennett, and George Smathers.

This series contains materials pertaining to the Florida State Advertising, Florida Constitution Advisory, Florida Development, Florida State Improvement, Florida Industrial, and Florida Nuclear Commissions. Also covered are figures such as Insurance Commissioner Edwin Larson and Ouida Baggett Regan, Chairman of the Florida Development Commission. Among the educators covered are Tom Bailey, Gordon Blackwell, Doak Campbell, Milton Carothers, William Thomas Cash, John Champion, Floyd T. Christian, J. Broward Culpepper, R.L. Eyman, and Robert Strozier.

Florida Politics. No discernible arrangement. 1948-1966. Campaign materials, newspaper clippings and election returns relating to the Florida Democratic and Republican Parties and various candidates. The majority of the items are dated from the mid-1960s.

This series contains materials such as articles, statements, correspondence, programs and other documents pertaining to a wide variety of public affairs in the state. Among the agencies and bodies covered are the Florida State Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Board of Pharmacy, the Florida State University, and the Florida Citizenship Clearing House.

Among the materials, are papers pertaining to the Civil War and Florida's involvement in the war including the Battle of Olustee and the Battle of Natural Bridge. Also included are items on Florida historical facts, historic Florida homes, historic places in the state such as Miami and Tallahassee, and the history of place names. Among the figures covered are Dr. Samuel Mudd, Palmer Perrine, and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

This series is comprised of correspondence, newspaper articles, convention materials, photographs, brochures, biographies, and monographs pertaining to business and industry in the State. Among the businesses covered are Dupont Industries and Institutions, the St. Joe Paper Company, Cimstrand Corporation, Florida Power & Light Company, and the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company. Among the persons and organizations mentioned are Edward Ball, Jesse Ball DuPont, McGregor Smith, and the Turkey Point Plant. Other subjects covered are the telephone, ranching in Florida, and oil exploration in the State.
