or Briefe Chronicle of the Acts and gestes of the Spaniardes in the West
Indies, called the newe World, for the space of XL. yeeres. 1582. The McGregor Collection contains about 335 volumes of early Americana, including works of discovery and exploration, the Colonial Period, the Revolutionary and Post Revolutionary Period, and early Florida history. It was acquired beginning in 1934, when Florida State University was invited to participate in a plan to encourage American college libraries to collect such materials through the "McGregor Fund", established by Tracy W. McGregor of Washington, D.C.
