of Bibles and Rare Books, donated by their son Milton S. Carothers, was
dedicated on March 7, 1982. Some representative
works in the collection include the Taverner-Tyndale Bible (1551);
a first edition of the Geneva Bible known as the "Breeches
Bible" (1560); a first edition of the Bishops' Bible, known as
the "Treacle Bible" (1572); and Jonathan Edwards' A Treatise
Concerning Religious Affections (1821).
