The Department was founded in 1918 at what was then the Florida State College for Women. Our faculty has a long and impressive history of publishing high quality research and award-winning teaching of both undergraduate and graduate students.
We offer three academic degrees and participate in one interdisciplinary program:
- Doctor of Philosophy (along with a traditional M. S. degree)
- Applied Masters with majors in Social Science Research and Aging & Health
- Applied Masters in Demography (coordinated through the Center for Demography and Population Health)
- Bachelor of Science/Arts
