COGS helps in funding for the Starlight Evening Day Care Center (644-3096).
COGS also helps in funding for the Alumni Village Preschool (644-8305).

COGS has standing committees which address the most critical areas of graduate student concern including:

• Parking, Transportation, and Housing  

• Healthcare and Insurance  

• Student Life and Childcare  

• Pay and Funding

Taking an active role in COGS helps the students at FSU as well as provides you with experience and opportunities to take part in leadership training programs.

COGS holds one meeting per month in room 250 in the Student Life Building. Committee meeting schedules vary, and generally meet at least once per month. All graduate students are welcome to attend any meeting.

Graduate Enhancement Fund

COGS raises funds to help provide support for graduate students. Although we pay 5% of our tuition into a financial aid fund, we are now eligible for a maximum $600 per year in grants.

The Graduate Enhancement Fund will eventually provide a source for additional grant money as well as support for the full range of programs provided by COGS.

Socials

COGS organizes a back-to-school social each August as well as bowling parties at the end of the term. In addition COGS runs other socials during the school year. For information, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fsu_cogs_events/.

Alumni Village Preschool

COGS provides funding for the pre-school located at Alumni Village.  The Pre-school provides daytime schooling for ages 2 1/2 and over.  Please call AVPS for information (644-8305).

Starlight Evening Childcare Center

COGS provides funding for evening childcare at Starlight on Woodward Ave.  Please call the Center for information (644-3096).  

National Association of Graduate and Professional Students (NAGPS)

NAGPS is the largest national association representing graduate and professional students. NAGPS provides a job bank which is available to FSU students through COGS' membership.
