Over 250 students, teachers, principals, partners, and district administrators participated in the Service-Learning Celebration at the Capitol April 21 & 22. During the courtyard event and press conference there were over 60 individual displays - check out the pictures. A bill is currently in the House of Representatives that would encourage school districts to initiate, adopt, expand, & institutionalize Service Learning programs in Florida's K-12 Schools. Congratulations to Alex Merkovic for being selected as the recipient of the Ben Rosenbloom Memorial Service Scholarship. The Scholarship recognizes students with an outstanding record of service and a commitment to a lifetime of service.

The Center for Leadership and Civic Education will have a new home in Student Success Center that is expected to open in Fall 2008. The Student Success Center will also house the Career Center. Visit our photo gallery for updates from the construction site.
As of August 1, 2007 the Center for Civic Education and Service and the Florida State LEAD Center are one department, The Center for Leadership and Civic Education. Check out the programs currently offered by the LEAD Center at lead.fsu.edu. Stay tuned for more information on the new Center.
The Social Justice Living-Learning Community (SJLLC) is located in the newly completed Wildwood Hall. The SJLLC is designed for students of all majors who desire to understand and practice social justice. Check out the latest pictures of the SJLLC.
