The specialist in education is an advanced master’s degree with admission requirements identical to the Master’s degree. In most cases, applicants for this EdS would already hold a Master’s degree in an area of special education. The purpose of earning the EdS would be to expand skills and knowledge in current area of expertise or to extend skills and knowledge to another area of special education.
