The doctoral program in special education is a comprehensive program designed to prepare selected individuals to serve in leadership roles in the education of individuals with disabilities. The program consists of preparing individuals in three core areas: administration, university teaching, and research. Each student is expected to develop minimum knowledge and skills in each of the three areas, although the student may emphasize one of the three.
