MINOR IN SPECIAL EDUCATION

Undergraduate students who wish to earn a minor in Special Education can choose to complete the following sequence of courses for a total of 12 semester hours. In the College of Education, since no minor requirement exists, we do not issue a letter confirming a minor. However, these courses will show up on your transcript. You may show your transcript and this sheet to a prospective employer to show that you have had some special education courses.

EEX 4770: Study of Human Exceptionality (3)

And any three of the following courses:

EEX 4050 - Introduction to Learning and Behavior Disorders(3)
EEX 4751 - Collaboration with Families, Schools, and the Community (3)
EGI 4011 - Introduction to Gifted and Talented Students(3)
EMR 4011 - Introduction to Mental Disabilities (3)
EVI 4011 - Introduction to Visual Disabilities (3)
EEX 4201 - Typical and Atypical Development and Learning (3)

A MINOR IN SPECIAL EDUCATION DOES NOT CONSTITUTE ADEQUATE PREPARATION FOR TEACHER CERTIFICATION IN FLORIDA OR ANY OTHER STATE.
