Barton Price to Participate in Seminar on Print Culture

 
Barton Price has been accepted to participate in the American Antiquarian Society summer research seminar, "The Newspaper and the Culture of Print in the Early American Republic." In addition, he has received the Isaiah Thomas Stipend. Thomas founded the Society in 1812 in Worcester, MA. It houses archives of American social and cultural life from the colonial era through the age of Reconstruction, including 15,000 newspaper titles. Price is a Ph.D. student in American Religious History, focusing on Midwestern religious newspapers in the nineteenth century. He will be participating in workshops on the history of newspapers and gaining practical research experience in the Society's archives.
