ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE

This certificate is designed to afford undergraduate students, especially those majoring in the social sciences, the opportunity to enroll in a sequence of courses which will provide an overview of methods, materials and issues in demographics. The certificate will complement many undergraduate majors in the College of Social Sciences, especially sociology, economics, geography, and interdisciplinary social sciences. Students who wish to apply at this time may claim credit for any component courses of the certificate which they have already completed, providing that the grade earned for any such course is at least C-.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested students are invited to contact the Demography Program to discuss course selection. Application for the Certificate consults of a letter to the Director of the program that explains why you are interested in the certificate and how you expect that completing the program will further your career objectives. If possible a transcript for all completed course work should accompany your letter. Each student should meet with the Director regarding choice of courses and their progress toward completion of the certificate.
