Major research interests include Federalism, State Politics, Public Policy, Health Policy. Research Agenda:Professor Weissert’s career has focused largely on issues relating to federalism, intergovernmental relations, state politics, and health policy. She is the editor of Publius: the Journal of Federalism, the premier journal on international research on federalism and intergovernmental relations. The third edition of her co-authored book, Governing Health: The Politics of Health Policy, was published in 2006-2007 along with book chapters on Medicaid waivers, Florida health policy, and federal allocation of policy responsibilities. Current research projects address interest groups on health policy, including how interest groups choose their preferred governmental venue; the impact of state legislative term limits; and the policy and intergovernmental importance of federal grant waivers.
