Areas of interest: Public finance, public choice, and the impact of government
activity on economic growth.
Dr. Holcombe is the author of ten books and more than 100 articles
in scholarly and professional journals. He is Chairman of the Research
Advisory Council of the James Madison Institute, a public policy
think tank based in Tallahassee, and is a member of Governor Jeb
Bush's Council of Economic Advisors. His most recent book is From
Liberty to Democracy: The Transformation of American Government (2002).
