FSU declared November 4, Panama Day due the important number of Panamanian students present in the main campus. According to the International Programs statistics, Panamanian students constitute the largest international student population on the Tallahassee campus, and this number is rapidly increasing. To celebrate, the Board of Directors of FSU Panama, who were attending their annual meeting, was invited to partake in the Homecoming 2004 Parade. Accompanied by a marvelous display of Panamanian polleras and Panamanian students themselves, the members of the Board cruised the parade in vintage cars. ![]() Later that afternoon, students and FSU panama faculty got together for a cookout, organized by the International Programs office. It was a fun opportunity for the Panamanian students to interact with each other, and share their adaptation experiences. The Pedacito de mi Tierra dance group performed a dance while the we all enjoyed the food. ![]() Overall it was a nice ambience, and a wonderful opportunity to get together. All the Panamanian students in Tallahassee would like to thank the people responsible for bringing a little bit of our country to us so far away from home. |
