1. To develop and conduct oral history projects in such
a manner as to provide a diverse, coherent, and integrated
body of sources for use by scholars and the interested public.
The emphasis will be divided between oral history sources
important to the historical record of Tallahassee and Florida
State University, and those important to the historical
record of World War II, the Korean conflict, and the Vietnam
War.
2. To collect and process interviews in accordance with
the highest standards of the oral history community.
3. To work with regional, national and international professional
oral history organizations.
4. To assist citizen groups and organizations within the
state with the identification and collection of oral history
materials through training workshops and lectures.
5. To play an active role in training graduate and undergraduate
students in the field of oral history collection and research.
