Welcome to the Department of Middle and Secondary Education! Our department is an integral part of the College of Education at Florida State University. As one of the premier programs in the state, our faculty is undertaking initiatives in middle childhood and adolescent education to improve mathematics education, science education, social science education, English education, health education, and multilingual, multicultural education in Florida schools.

Our mission is to provide exemplary leadership both within and beyond traditional school settings.
