Application Procedures
The deadline for applications is revolving. Applications are accepted at any time and are reviewed at the beginning of the subsequent semester in which they are received.
A complete application, for students already enrolled in a degree-seeking graduate program at FSU, must include the following:
- A completed and signed application form. (Click here to download form [pdf])
- A one-page typed statement of purpose that explains your reasons for pursuing the certificate in museum studies and your career goals.
- Two letters of recommendation. One must come from a member of the Museum Studies' steering committee and the second may be from anyone who is familiar with your academic or professional work.
- Unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, whether or not the program was completed.
Students who wish to apply to the program as a special student must first apply to the University for special student status and then to the Museum Studies program. A complete application must include the following:

- A one-page typed statement of purpose that explains your reasons for pursuing the certificate in museum studies and your career goals.
- Three letters of recommendation. Please request recommendations from Museum Studies steering committee members and individuals who are familiar with your current academic and/or work achievements and potential.
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, whether or not the program was completed.
