The Spanish Division of the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics
would like to welcome you to Intensive Spanish (SPN1150).

SPN 1150, Intensive Spanish, is a one semester course designed for students who have had two years of high school Spanish, or the equivalent, but do not feel prepared to go directly into SPN 1121, Elementary Spanish, or SPN 2200, Intermediate Spanish.  The course reviews all the material presented in SPN 1120  and covers the material in SPN 1121 in one semester. The course emphasizes the four communicative skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing in a culturally authentic context. Basic grammar skills are also introduced.  Students will make oral presentations, read short texts, and write brief compositions in Spanish. Laboratory assignments will be completed outside of class.
