DEPARTMENT OF MODERN LANGUAGES AND LINGUISTICS

The Spanish Division of the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics would like to welcome you to Elementary Spanish I (SPN1120). SPN 1120 is the first of a three-semester sequence of courses (SPN 1120, SPN 1121, and SPN 2200), that, when completed, fulfills the language requirement in arts and sciences.  It is designed for students with little or no prior knowledge of Spanish.  The course emphasizes the communicative skills of listening and speaking within cultural contexts, the reading of authentic materials, and the writing of short compositions in order to enable students to function at a survival level within the culture.
