Kindra Dimmock

When I was selected for the Winthrop-King scholarship during the summer of 2001, I decided to enroll in a French program in Annecy, a small town located in the Alps and not far from Geneva. The area was breathtaking, and I was able to hike my first mountains. During my stay, my spoken French and auditory comprehension improved, as a result of careful instruction by native professors and conversations with my host family. I remain in contact with many of the friends I made there, and look forward to returning to Annecy during my next visit to France.

Anne Ortiz

Anne Ortiz was the recipient of a Winthrop-King summer scholarship which enabled her to travel to France to attend a course in Medieval Studies at the Université de Poitiers taught by leading professors in the field. While studying in Poitiers, Anne was featured in a newspaper report in La Nouvelle République, 1 July 2005.
