She earned her Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Educational Sciences at Dokuz Eylül University in Izmir, Turkey.
Between 1998 and 2009, Arzu Güngör Leushuis served as an instructor in Dokuz Eylül University’s Department of Educational Sciences and taught courses to elementary and high school teacher candidates as well as at a private institute for pre-service teachers. She completed her post-doc research in the Department of Childhood Education, Reading, and Disability Services, College of Education, at Florida State University during 2006-2008. In addition, she was employed as researcher with the Individualizing Student Instruction Project at the Florida Center for Reading Research, Florida State University during 2007-2008.
She published several articles related to her research field. Since January 2010, she is Adjunct Instructor of Turkish Language and Culture in the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics at Florida State University.
Arzu Güngör Leushuis teaches classes in Turkish language (Elementary Turkish 1-3) and Turkish culture (Turkish Cinema, Turkish Culture and Civilization).
