| SPN1121 Elementary Spanish II Welcome
to Elementary Spanish II! In this course you will continue
to develop basic communicative skills in Spanish and use those
skills to expand your knowledge of the cultures of the Spanish-speaking
peoples of the world. SPN 1121 is the second of a three-semester
sequence of courses designed exclusively for students
who have completed SPN 1120, or equivalent, with a grade of
C- or higher. Students who have not taken SPN 1120 must
take the placement test at Assessment Services in University Center, Building C, Suite 1200 to determine
whether they should enroll in SPN 1120, SPN
1130, or higher. Information regarding the placement test
may be found at http://www.fsu.edu/%7Emodlang/undergrad/placement.htm. This course may not be taken concurrently with any
SPN 1000-2000 level course and is closed to native or heritage
speakers of Spanish. Students who do not comply with the aforementioned
requisites risk being dropped by the Department of
Modern Languages and Linguistics after the Drop/Add Period
has ended.
Objectives & Goals: By the end of the semester you will be able to communicate in basic Spanish
about a variety of topics, including leisure activities, technology,
important life events, and geography. In addition, you will
be able to understand, summarize and express opinions about
portions of a Spanish film, Sol y viento.
