Phi Alpha is the national honor society for students
of German. The chapter at FSU, organized in 1979, is Iota
Eta. A student who would like to be considered for membership
in the honorary can bring or send a current unofficial transcript
to:

To be considered, the student must have:
at least a 3.5 GPA in German
at least a 3.0 GPA overall
completed at least three courses above the language
requirement (but you may be enrolled in the third course when applying).
Membership is by invitation. There is a one-time
fee of $10.00 to cover cost of the certificate. Rings or pins are available
in different price ranges. Students will be notified by letter, so please
be sure your mailing address is shown on the transcript or on a separate
note.
Members of Delta
Phi Alpha are eligible to apply for a scholarship
to study for a year in Germany upon graduation. They must be members
in their senior year, which means being accepted by the end of
the junior year. Members are initiated once each year, in April.
Applications for membership are accepted until December of each
year. |
