Dr. Erasmo G. Gerato (Ph.D. U of Wisconsin-Madison) is a professor of
French and Italian literature. He is the author of A Critical study of
the Life and Works of Alessandro Poerio (Parma: Maccari, 1975) and of
Guido Gustavo Gozzano: A Literary Interpretation (Madrid: José P.
Turanzas, 1983). In 1983, the Government of France honored him with the
title of Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques. In 1988 the
French Government honored him with the promotion to the rank of Officier
dans l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques. In addition to his teaching and
research, Dr. Gerato directed for the State of Florida through FSU The
Florida Costa Rica Linkage Institute from 1993 till 1999, and he directed
for the State of Florida through FSU The Florida France Linkage Institute
from its inception in 1989 till 1999.
In addition to teaching the French Division, Dr. Gerato also teaches in
the Italian division (specializing as in French in the Nineteenth as well
as the early Twentieth Centuries with a preference for the genre of
poetry as well as grammar courses).
During the Summer Sessions, Dr. Gerato also directs
the Florida State University Summer Study Program in Costa Rica where he
also teaches a Conversation Spanish Course.
