Biographical Information

Dr. Rita C. Richey

Dr. Rita C. Richey is Professor and Program Coordinator in Instructional Technology for the College of Education at Wayne State University. She received her B.A. in English from the University of Michigan, her M.A. in Psychology of Reading from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University.

Dr. Richey is the recipient of many awards including:

  • President's Award for Excellence in Teaching, Wayne State University, 1985
  • 1995 Outstanding Book in Instructional Development, Association for Educational Communications and Technology, Division of Instructional Development.
  • Board of Governors Distinguished Faculty Fellowship, Wayne State University, 1995.
  • James W. Brown Publication Award, Association for Educational Communications and Technology, 1996.
  • Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award, Wayne State University, 1997.

Dr. Richey's teaching and research interests include Instructional Design, Research and Theory in Instructional Technology, History and Trend in Instructional Technology.
