TAMARISK

Birds, cattle and other animals do not usually eat tamarisk tamarisk (Tamarix ramosissima Ledeb.) because the leaves, fruits, and seeds are small, tough, and salty.

Tamarisk has invaded the edges of streams and lakes and wetlands of the western United States.
