Starlings can cause severe damage in both urban and rural areas. When thousands of starlings flock to an area, their waste can cause structural damage and health risks.

Starlings also steal chicken feed and corn silage, and they eat seedlings in fields of grain.

They compete with wild birds and small animals for food.
