Monday, February 18, 2008
10:10 - 11:00 am Diffenbaugh 009

In her lecture, Laurence Fradin looks at the changing status of women in French public life during the past half century. She emphasizes the relatively slow pace at which women in France, compared with those in other European countries, have gained rights and representation and specific initiatives taken in recent years to accelerate this process. Laurence Fradin studied at the Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Ecole Nationale d’Administration and is now a senior official in the Cour des comptes, auditor of the nation’s public expenditures. Mme Fradin will speak in French.
